Nancy Pelosi stands by Rashida Tlaib’s Anti-Semitic comments does she even know what she said?
Nancy Pelosi finally spoke up about Muslim Representative Rashida Tlaib who this weekend said the Holocaust had a ‘calming effect’ on her. Pelosi did not condemn Tlaib’s comments Nancy Pelosi stands by Tlaib. Not only does she stand by her she thinks the President and Republicans should apologize to the anti-Semitic representative.
The question is does Pelosi even know what Tlaib said? If you remember back when Ilhan Omar made her own Anti-Semitic comments Pelosi commented then admitted a few days later she didn’t even know what the anti-Jew Muslim had to say.
After Ilhan Omar said “some people did some things” referring to 19 Muslims flying planes into skyscrapers and killing 3,000 people on 9/11 Pelosi defended Omar for days. then had the below to say. Admitting she didn’t even know what the Freshman Radical Muslim had to say.
In an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Pelosi remained resolute in defending Ilhan Omar against charges of anti antisemitism.
“I don’t think the congresswoman is anti-Semitic. I wouldn’t even put those in the same category,” Pelosi told interviewer Christiane Amanpour in Ireland. “We have no taint of that [anti-Semitism],” she added. “And just because they want to accuse somebody of that doesn’t mean that we take that bait.”
Pelosi also dismissed criticisms that she hasn’t done enough to defend Omar, conceding, “Until I talk to somebody, I don’t even know what was said.”
“I do know that what the president did was not right,” she added.
So does she know what Rashida Tlaib said? Tlaib’s comments are below.
“There’s kind of a calming feeling I always tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports,” Tlaib said.
She continued, “I mean, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time, and I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways,” Tlaib added. “But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away, right, and it was forced on them. And so when I think about a one-state, I think about the fact that, why couldn’t we do it in a better way?”
Now Tlaib says her comments were misunderstood and she was praising Palestinians that helped Jews escape and those criticizing her are ‘racist idiots’. Nancy Pelosi stands by Tlaib just as she had Omar. It is still not clear if she was sober enough to know what she said.
