President Trump says James Comey probably the lead ‘spy’ on his 2016 campaign that is why the rats are scattering
President Trump is on the warpath and stated that former (thank God) FBI Director James Comey is “probably was one of the people leading the effort on spying” on his 2016 campaign.
During an interview with Fox News that aired Thursday evening, Trump referred to how Attorney General William Barr recently said “spying did occur” on Trump’s presidential team and tied it to Comey, who Trump said he did the country a great service when he fired him.
“I would say he probably led some kind of an effort. The word ‘spying’ has been used. He probably was one of the people leading the effort on spying,” Trump told Fox News’ Catherine Herridge. “I know, we will find out whether it was it could very well be true. We are going to find out pretty soon.”
“Spying’ was first brought up in the 2016 campaign by Attorney General Barr and all hell broke loose with the Democrats and the Obama DOJ.
“The question is whether it was predicated — adequately predicated,” Barr testified. “I’m not suggesting it wasn’t adequately predicated, but I need to explore that. I think it’s my obligation. Congress is usually very concerned about intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies staying in their proper lane.”
Comey was what you would expect furious when he heard the word spying. “When I hear that kind of language used, it’s concerning because the FBI, the Department of Justice conduct court-ordered electronic surveillance,” Comey said at the Hewlett Foundation’s Verify Conference. “I have never thought of that as spying.” Although Comey said he gave Barr the benefit of the doubt, citing his long career, his talk of “spying” made it more difficult. “I have no idea what the heck he’s talking about.”
James Clapper the former (thank God) Director of National intelligence is another rat that is scurrying for cover. He had the below to say about 2016 campaign spying.
“Spying has is a term I have never… liked that term being applied to me, even though I spent 50 years in the intelligence business. It has a bad connotation. It’s a pejorative term. It smacks of illegality, a lack of oversight, all those kind of things. And that wasn’t the case here,” Clapper said Thursday on CNN.
It is clear that Barr and the Trump administration intend to get to the bottom of 2016 campaign spying. And James Comey, John Brennan, James Clapper, Bruce and Nellie Ohr, Susan Rice, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok and his skank FBI lover Lisa Page would be wise to start exercising their right to remain silent.
