Cory Booker says it would be irresponsible not to consider Presidential run, after all we must have Spartacus on ballot

New Jersey Senator Cory Booker confirmed to the New York magazine Wednesday he would be making a 2020 Presidential run. Spartacus aka Booker said it would be irresponsible of him not to run.

A couple of weeks ago Booker made a complete ass of himself at the Brett Kavanaugh hearings. Booker threatened to release confidential documents on Judge Kavanaugh. It turns out they had already been released and it was all Presidential grandstanding.

“I understand the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate. … I openly invite and accept the consequences of my team releasing that email right now,” Booker said.

“This is about the closest I’ll probably ever have in my life to an ‘I am Spartacus’ moment,” he added.

Republican Sen John Cornyn warned Booker that releasing documents marked “committee confidential” would break Senate rules.

“Running for president is not an excuse for violating the rules of the Senate,” the Texas Republican said.

Booker, the former mayor of Newark, has emerged in recent years as a leader of the younger, more progressive wing of the Democratic party. Having just returned from campaigning for “almost every candidate in Nevada,” Booker described the physical toll of his midterm barnstorming.

“You’re catching me on a day when I’m physically depleted,” he said. “My spirits are up, but I just campaigned for nearly every candidate in Nevada: secretary of State; guy for AG; guy running for governor; uh, Jacky Rosen, who will hopefully be my colleague; some assembly and legislative leaders. Then flew to Seattle, landed, headlined an event there, and then got right on a plane at 6 a.m. and came back.”

Spartacus might as well run. The Democrat list of victims is not very intimidating. At the top of the list are Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden (looking like a nursing home not Presidential hopefuls). Maybe even Hillary will consider coming back for another butt kicking. The next few years will be fun watching Democrats lose their minds as Trump MAGA’s.
