Netanyahu says Iran “lied big time, what a surprise another failed Obama policy
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released what he said was a “half ton” of Iranian nuclear documents that prove Iran lied big time about their nuclear program. Israel has a lot to lose with Iran having nuclear weapons as the mostly Muslim country has considerable hatred for Israel and their Jewish population.
Netanyahu claimed the material showed that Iran cannot be trusted and President Trump should strongly consider withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal that President Obama got the United States into. President Trump has already indicated his reluctance to stay in the deal.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the “information provides new and compelling details about Iran’s efforts to develop missile-deliverable nuclear weapons.”
The Iranian nuclear deal was signed and spearheaded by the Obama administration to release sanctions put on Iran in exchange for Iran stopping their nuclear program. President Trump has called it the “worst deal ever.”
Iran’s deputy foreign minister and senior nuclear negotiator, Abbas Araghchi, called Netanyahu’s presentation “childish and ridiculous” and said the purported evidence was “fake and fabricated.”
Iran has denied ever seeking nuclear weapons. Which is a big time lie.
In his presentation, Netanyahu said Israel had obtained some 55,000 pages of documents and 183 CDs of secret information from an Iranian nuclear weapons program called “Project Amad.” He said the material was gathered from a facility in the Tehran neighborhood of Shourabad a few weeks ago “in a great intelligence achievement.”
He said the uncovered filed included “incriminating” documents, charts, blueprints, photos and videos. He pointed to one presentation that allegedly called for producing and testing five warheads.
President Trump called the Iran nuclear deal a “horrible agreement for the United States” in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bombshell allegations about Tehran’s covert activity – but stopped short of saying whether he’d abandon the deal ahead of a looming deadline.
The president addressed the claims during a Rose Garden press conference Monday afternoon, moments after Netanyahu held a dramatic presentation revealing intelligence he says shows Iran is lying about its nuclear weapons program.
“That is just not an acceptable situation,” Trump said.
Trump said Netanyahu’s claims show Iran is “not sitting back idly.”
“They’re setting off missiles which they say are for television purposes,” Trump said. He added: “I don’t think so.”
Iran lied big time and Trump has already said Iran would not mess with him. Plan on the US swiftly pulling out of the “worst deal ever.”
