Addressing the elephant in the room

everybody plays games

President Trump commented about the North Korea negotiations before leaving to speak at the Naval academy graduation in Annapolis. The President was asked if North Korea was playing games. He replied “everybody plays games.

The planned summit in Singapore

“We’re going to see what happens. We’re talking to them now. It was a very nice statement they put out,” Trump said on the South Lawn before departing in his helicopter for the US Naval Academy in Maryland, where he is delivering a commencement address.
“We’ll see what happens. It could even be the 12th. We’re talking to them now,” he said. “They very much want to do it. We’d like to do it.”
Asked whether the North Koreans were playing games, Trump acknowledged they were — and suggested he was too.
“Everybody plays games. You know that,” he told reporters when asked about the ongoing talks. “You know that better than anybody.”

The summit was called off after North Korea responded to a statement Mike Pence had made about the Gadaffi model. In other words killing the ruthless dictator. North Korea took exception and called the Vice President a stupid idiot. Yesterday President Trump sent the North Korean leader a letter canceling the summit. Trump also in a statement reminded Kim Jong midget of the strength of our military and accuracy and strength of our nukes.

That prompted a very nice statement from the North Koreans saying they want the meeting to go on. President Trump responded today “very good news to receive the warm and productive statement from North Korea. We will soon see where it will lead, hopefully to long and enduring prosperity and peace. Only time (and talent) will tell!”

It is true everybody plays games in a negotiation that is why they are called negotiations. Trump is the master and Kim Jong midget is barely even a student.
