Antonio Brown shows great disrespect on Memorial Day weekend, Players do not get the fans rage on anthem
Pittsburgh Steelers star receiver Antonio Brown does not seem to get the NFL fans rage as he shows great disrespect for the National Anthem on of all things Memorial Day weekend.
Last week at the NFL owners meeting the owners came to a consensus that if a player is on the field for the National Anthem he must stand of face a 15 yard penalty for his team and possible fines.
“We believe today’s decision will keep our focus on the game and the extraordinary athletes who play it — and on our fans who enjoy it,” commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.
Previously, NFL regulations said players “should” stand for the anthem, an allowance that raged out of control as players protested police brutality and racism in the United States. President Trump launched attacks at the league and its players, and the NFL has scrambled for a solution that takes its protesters off the field ever since.
Shortly after the announcement of the NFL rules change New York Jets owner Christopher Johnson offered to pay the fines for his players that chose to kneel for the anthem.
Johnson said “Do I prefer that they stand? Of course. But I understand if they felt the need to protest,” This is what is wrong with the NFL handling of their social justice warriors. Guys like Antonio Brown act as children. They have to be told this is the way it is and if you do not cooperate these are the consequences. Now that the Jets owner provided an out, even though he did not offer to pay the fines of other teams players.
Brown added on the picture “Send the invoice to Christopher Johnson #JetsChairman #Respect #TakeAkneeonIG #Tag Me. The NFL has to put a stop to the players injecting politics into the league. People watch the NFL for entertainment not to hear Antonio Brown’s political statements.
