Addressing the elephant in the room

Kim willing to talk about Denuclearization

North Korean President Kim Jong Midget says he is willing to talk about denuclearization in exchange for some sort of security guarantee for his country. President Trump is skeptical tweeting first “We will see what happens!

Trump later tweeted “Possible progress being made in talks with North Korea. For the first time in many years a serious effort is being made by all parties concerned. The World is watching and waiting! May be false hope, but the U.S. is ready to go hard in either direction.

The North Korean leader agreed to meet with South Korea’s President next month with denuclearization being on the table for talking points. Many in the US including former UN ambassador John Bolten are very skeptical saying “the only thing Kim Jong Un clearly wants is to get deliverable nuclear weapons.” Bolton says that we have been going at this for 25 years and North Korea does not deliver on these promises.

Bolton even makes a prediction that if North Korea lures the US into these talks and we make concessions North Korea will have deliverable nukes by the end of this year.

Chung Eui-yong, South Korea’s presidential national security director, said after returning from North Korea on Tuesday that the two Koreas agreed to hold their summit at a tense border village in late April. He also said the leaders will establish a “hotline” communication channel between them to lower military tensions, and would speak together before the planned summit.

Chung led a 10-member South Korean delegation that met with Kim during a two-day visit to Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital. They were the first South Korean officials to meet the young North Korean leader since he took power after his dictator father’s death in late 2011. Chung’s trip also was the first known high-level visit by South Korean officials to North Korea in about 11 years.

One thing is for sure Kim Jong Midget has been a proven liar and it is not very often that ruthless dictators tell the truth. Kim has been backed into a corner and denuclearization is not very likely to happen. What is more than likely to happen is the second part of President Trump’s tweet that we are willing to go hard in either direction.
