Addressing the elephant in the room

MSNBC Chris Matthews nominates the Parkland shooting activist as the New Walter Cronkite’s

Walter Cronkite's

MSNBC host Chris Matthews is proclaiming the Parkland shooting activist the Walter Cronkite of our day. In an Washington Post opinion post titled The Parkland shooting victims are the most trusted people in America.

Fifty years ago, Walter Cronkite boasted unmatched credibility. Now, that goes to students.”

Matthews doesn’t have a poll result on their “unmatched credibility.” He’s just happily guessing. But its fascinating that “objective” anchorman and liberal street activists are so easily matched. Liberals never really believed in that “objectivity” baloney, any way.

Fifty years ago, CBS’s Walter Cronkite stepped from his role as objective TV anchor to call for a negotiated settlement of America’s war in Southeast Asia.

“We have been too often disappointed by the optimism of the American leaders, both in Vietnam and Washington, to have faith any longer in the silver linings they find in the darkest clouds,” he said in his broadcast of Feb. 27, 1968. “. . . For it seems now more certain than ever that the bloody experience of Vietnam is to end in a stalemate.”

The next Walter Cronkite according to Chris Matthews

Coming from Cronkite, those words came as a shocker, not least to the man leading us in the war. After watching, President Lyndon B. Johnson is famously reported to have told aides: If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost middle America.

Chris Matthews says without a Walter Cronkite he nominates the Parkland students to be the most trusted news source in America.

Matthews suggest that Wayne LaPierre of The National Rifle Association has attacked the media but his real targets are these poor little surviving victims.

Rush Limbaugh suggested that the gun activist namely David Hogg who listed journalism as one of his interest for career should just drop out of high school and enter the world of journalism. MSNBC or CNN or one of the rag networks would give him a king’s ransom right now to be a reporter.

The truth is David Hogg and his group of sobbing victims are not Walter Cronkite and they are not even that good of activist. They are being exploited by adults who should be ashamed of themselves. And in time we will find out that George Soros or some other billionaire liberal has financed this Never again movement. It is not a grass roots student led movement.
